Jolly Phonics sounds flashcards

Each sound is represented in the following way:

• One small flashcard displaying the sound (e.g., /s/).
• Five small flashcards with pictures of different objects or things that either start or contain the sound. For example: the picture of the sun or a snake for /s/.
• One larger flashcard featuring the sound alongside images of the five chosen objects, with the corresponding written words (e.g., "sun", "snake")

The 42 sounds of the Jolly Phonics method are divided into the following groups:

Group 1: s, a, t, i, p, n.

Group 2: ck, e, h, r, m, d.

Group 3: g, o, u, l, f, b.

Group 4: ai, j, oa, ie, ee, or.

Group 5: z, w, ng, v, oo, oo (as in "book" or "moon").

Group 6: y, x, ch, sh, th, th (voiced as in "this" or unvoiced as in "thin").

Group 7: qu, ou, oi, ue, er, ar.
